Cosmo Sports privacy policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Cosmo Sports is a free sports app. Scores, predictions and alerts work without an account; a free account is needed only for Cosmic and to keep your teams and settings on every device. It has no ads and no tracking or analytics. We don't sell or share personal information, and we collect only what a feature needs to work, described below.

Data stored on your device

The teams you follow, your picks and Daily 3 results, your settings (such as the spoiler shield and sounds), your tennis watchlist and your current Ask Cosmo conversation are stored only in the app on your device. They are not sent to us, except as described under Notifications and Ask Cosmo. You can erase all of it at any time in Settings > Your data > Reset, or by removing the app.

Notifications

If you turn on notifications, your device gives the app a push address. Our live service (a Cloudflare Worker we run) stores that address together with the teams you follow, the games you tapped the bell on, the tennis players you watch and your alert choices, so it can send you the alerts you asked for, including the optional morning briefing. It stores nothing else about you. Turning notifications off, or resetting the app, deletes this record. Push messages are delivered by your browser or phone maker's push service (for example Apple, Google or Mozilla).

Ask Cosmo (the AI companion)

When you ask Cosmo a question, the text of your question, your recent messages in that conversation, and a summary of what's on your screen (for example the game you have open, the teams you follow and the model's predictions) are sent to our live service, which adds public scoreboard data and passes it to an AI model to write the answer: Cloudflare Workers AI, or Anthropic's Claude if the app's operator has enabled it. We don't store your questions or the answers. The AI provider processes them under its own terms and privacy policy. Please don't include personal information in your questions.

Listen Live

When you turn on Listen Live in a game, the text of each play (for example "Touchdown, Chiefs!") is sent to our live service on Cloudflare, which turns it into speech with Cloudflare's Workers AI and plays it back. Only public play text is sent; nothing about you is included, and the audio isn't kept beyond a short-lived cache. If you pick "Phone voice" in Settings, or the service is unavailable, your device's own text-to-speech voice is used instead.

Cosmic

Cosmo Sports accounts sign in with a passkey, and you need one to use the app and to collect cards. Your device keeps the passkey's private key and unlocks it with Face ID, your fingerprint or your passcode; your face, fingerprint and passcode never leave your device and we never see them. We store only the passkey's public key, which can check a sign-in but can't be used to make one. When you're signed in, your followed teams, settings and picks are saved with your account so they follow you to other devices. Signing out removes your account from that device; your account stays saved. Deleting your account (Settings, then Account) erases it and everything saved with it.

When you create an account, our alerts service stores the display name you choose, your Cosmic Coin balance, your bets and the cards you collect. Your name, balance, betting record, cards and market listings can appear on the public leaderboard, market and feed. This device also keeps a sign-in key for your account; anyone with it could use your account, so keep your device secure. Signing out cancels this device's key, and "Sign out everywhere" in Cosmic cancels every one. Cosmic Coins are play money: they can't be bought with real money or cashed out, and cards can only be traded for coins inside Cosmic. Neither has any cash value.

Email and password sign-in

If you choose to add an email and password (for signing in on a computer), we don't store your email address itself: we keep a one-way scrambled version (a hash) so we can find your account when you sign in, plus a masked copy (like a•••@gmail.com) so the app can show you which email you used. Your password is stored only as a salted, slow one-way hash, never as the password. We don't send you email. You can remove your email and password at any time, and they're deleted with your account.

Support messages and reports

If you use the form on the Support page, we store your message, the contact details you choose to give (for example an email address) and, if you're signed in, your account name, so we can reply. We keep support messages for up to 180 days and then delete them automatically, or sooner once they're handled. They're deleted when you delete your account.

If you report a player's name in Cosmic, we store the report (your account, the name and the reason you give) so the site's owner can review it. Reports you made, and reports about you, are deleted when you delete your account.

Comets

Comets articles are loaded from our alerts service; reading them sends nothing about you. If you're the site's writer and sign in to post, your writer key is kept only on your device and sent only with the articles you publish, edit or delete. If you have notifications on, you may get an alert when a new article is published; you can turn that off in Settings.

Sharing and challenge links

When you share a game, a score image, your Daily 3 result or a challenge link, the link or image contains only the game and your picks, not who you are. Sharing is always started by you.

Services the app talks to

The app is hosted on GitHub Pages. Live data comes from these sources, which receive standard technical information when your device contacts them (such as your IP address) and handle it under their own privacy policies:

Articles and videos you open on other sites are covered by those sites' policies.

Children

Cosmo Sports is intended for people aged 13 and over. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us through the Support page and we'll delete it.
